Hey guys,
Harri here – for those of you who I’ve not met, I’m a coach at DISTRICT Battersea…
So this year I’ve started my venture towards completing 12 charity fitness challenges in 12 months of 2021. (https://www.ovacome.org.uk/fundraisers/12-in-12-for-our-women)
I started in feb, completing 2590 burpees for time in my mates back garden. Followed by the David Goggins 4x4x48 challenge – Run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours (aiming for each run under 30 minutes). The 3rd challenge was 818 weighted vest push ups sub 2 hours. The next challenge is to rope climb the total height of the Burj Khalifa – which by the way, John has said he’ll be joining – hold him to that!
Why am I doing these events?
It’s a story that started almost 9 years ago when my Mum got diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Without going into to much detail, she beat it the first time but it came back 5 years later…and persisted on coming back multiple times. July 2020 my parents told me it’d yet again returned in the worst way, so I decided it was time to come home.
I was supposed to start these events in Jan 2021, but at the end of the month I received a call to say she’d rapidly deteriorated unexpectedly and was on palliative care. My younger Brother, Dad and Nan were with her when she passed at the start of Feb.
You can read the full story here and go see what the charity is all about here: https://www.ovacome.org.uk/fundraisers/12-in-12-for-our-women
I’ve raised a current total of £10,000+ for the charity that helped my Mum throughout her treatment. I’d appreciate any donation no matter how small or large – it all contributes to better care for these women going through what my Mum went through.
Follow every challenge which will be live streamed on my instagram @Harri_pereira
Thank you!
