Goal Setting in 2020
2020 most certainly wasn’t what we wished for. It’s been a bit stop-start, and meant for a lot of us big goals have been put on hold. With all this going on, it can be easy to get disheartened and give up on things we once worked hard to chase. We’re here to put a stop to that, and share some simple ways to still achieve big things… even with only one dumbbell!
THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX
… Literally, outside of your usual Battersea/Wandsworth box and focus on what the at-home workouts can offer. Pick something you regularly practice in our at-home workouts and set yourself a number to beat. It could be burpees, it could be a dumbbell snatch, all we ask is that you chase it. An easy way to do this could be ‘how many can you complete in a minute’.
DON’T GET DISHEARTENED
It’s oh so easy to think about all the things we can’t do when there’s so many we can. Whilst we might be without barbells and big boxes, we still have our bodies which are capable of moving in so many other ways, Focus on what you can control, not what you can’t.
WHY NOT JUMP ABOARD SOMETHING DIFFERENT?
You may have been the king or queen of Fran just weeks ago, but now you’re without a pull-up bar. So, what’s next? Why not take on something that scares you a little? Maybe it’s running? Why not set yourself the goals of beating your current 1k time? Want some advice? Check-in with our Running DISTRICT!
BOOK YOURSELF SOMETHING IN 2021
Why not work towards something? Whilst there might not be much on this year, there’s still plenty of hope for next year, so why not book something for then? Use it as your long term goal, and to structure the short term ones you’ll set to get there.
USE YOUR RESOURCES
Perhaps our favourite one, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Our coaches know a lot, they are experts in several areas and they are there to support you. Don’t be shy, drop them a message and seek support to strive towards your goal.
